It's true that it is common practice for fashion models to change
clothes where there are other people handling tasks such as moving racks
of clothes, helping them dress, so that the clothes do not become
creased, applying makeup, and organizing the schedule of activities -
and some of those people are male.
However, it is _also_ common practice for the people in these areas to
behave in a professional manner, and to be there only because they are
there for legitimate reasons.
I see nothing contradictory in her reminding us that she is a human
being, and she has feelings.

Fashion's Reality Star Faces the Real Thing
By VIRGINIA HEFFERNAN
Published: February 22, 2006
...... .....
"Project Jay," a special spun off from "Project Runway," follows one of
these contest winners post-show, just at the point that the contest's
host - in this case, the rosy German model Heidi Klum - is dropping
him like a wet rag.
Round, wisecracking, talented, grandiose, Jay McCarroll won "Project
Runway," the fashion-designer contest, in its first season. Jay
designed layered streetwear that seemed high-spirited and well
conceived, even as he fretted, bad-mouthed the competition and acted as
if he did everything at the last minute. The judges and Ms. Klum all
hailed Jay as the next big thing; the "Project Runway" season ended
with Jay's excitement and plans to create a complete collection.
On tonight's program, we open on Jay as he cynically rehashes his
triumph and reluctantly prepares to leave his hometown, Lehman, Pa.
Jay, who dresses himself in head scarves and ponchos and
homeless-looking getups that recall ZZ Top, styles himself as a hick,
and his town is inarguably rural. His father, though on dialysis, chews
tobacco; the outside of the family's truck is stained with juice and
chaw. He thinks Jay's a sissy. Jay's sister is equally tough. She sees
him off unsentimentally as he leaves for New York: "See ya, I wouldn't
want to be ya."
After Lehman, New York City seems like a world of hugs and big love. A
friend offers Jay a place to stay in Park Slope, Brooklyn, and he gets
no end of useful, if canned, encouragement from Ross, his licensing
agent, and Nancy, his publicist. Who needs family if you have a
licensing agent?
The drama kicks off at Lucky Strike, the restaurant on Grand Street,
where Nancy tells Jay that Ms. Klum wants him to design a dress for her
to wear on the red carpet for the Emmys. Jay is restrained; he wonders
if he's up to this kind of formalwear. He's further daunted after a
conversation with Ms. Klum, who wants to wear red, which Jay thinks is
a mistake. Ms. Klum tells him to do what he wants: "I want it to be
obvious that I'm wearing you." Jay falls in line, buys fabric and
concocts a tabloid-ready red dress with much agony and indecision.
Throughout the show, he talks about the dress and takes obvious pride
in the commission. He's about to make his name and cement his stardom.
The pleasure of "Project Jay" is in Jay's caustic, self-savaging
throwaway lines. He imagines that he'll get by in New York, "even if I
have to sell my sperm, or hook." And further wonders if he'll bottom
out and "break my lease and become a cutter."
"Physically, I hate myself," he says, and sings: "Who lives in a
blobular vessel? I do, I do." He wonders how life would have been
different if he had been handsome, and decides he would have been
stupid and dead of AIDS.
Under the wire, the dress is nearly done. And then a call comes from a
representative for Ms. Klum. In nauseating double-speak, Jay is
informed that the model will not wear his dress because some Sanhedrin
of style has spoken: "They all felt she should go in more of an earth
mother direction," the factotum tells Jay. "They've all decided that
she's going to go with a different dress."
Jay tries to shrug it off, then cries. Later Ms. Klum calls him, and is
faintly apologetic. She had not been a good customer, she says, because
she had just given birth, which meant - by some logic - that she
had to go with a floral dress and not the red one she had asked for.
Jay listens neutrally, then mentions his forthcoming fashion show. He
wonders aloud whether she, who ushered this Pennsylvania boy into the
big fashion world, will be there.
"I'll definitely try," she says, every word sounding hollow.
Hmm. And will Bravo, which has its chief stake in Heidi Klum's bigger
show, allow this display of her callousness to appear on her program's
spinoff, "Project Jay"? Apparently so, as it's here tonight.
NY DAILY NEWS...RUSH AND MOLLOY
"The O.C.'s" Mischa Barton and her rocker boyfriend, Cisco Adler, have
fled Aspen for Miami - perhaps because of the chilly reception they got
at the ski town's hottest club.
Last week, the couple showed up with a posse at the Caribou, the
private establishment where Hollywood decamps during the holidays.
"Cisco pushed ahead to the door," says our snitch. "The doorman said,
'Are you a member?' When he said, 'No,' they turned him away. But it
was more about his attitude, like everyone should know who he was. He
really made a scene."
"The next night, they came back. Cisco said, 'We know Jack.' The
doorman said, 'Jack who?' He said, 'Jack Nicholson.' The doorman said,
'Jack's a member, but you should have had Jack call.'"
Turned away again, they had somebody call one of the club's owners the
next night. This time, they were granted entrance.
"They were much better behaved," says our spy, who speculated the pair
might have gotten in the first night if the gorgeous-but-shy Barton
hadn't been hidden behind her bold-but-skeevy boyfriend.
Elsewhere around town: Don Johnson and wife Kelley celebrated the news
of their third child with a New Year's Eve blowout. Jada Pinkett and
Will Smith have been working out at 6 a.m. at the Aspen Athletic Club.
Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld and Heidi Klum stopped by the Aspen Mountain
Club. Rebecca DeMornay scouted jewelry at Dior. Robert Wagner and Jill
St. John had lunch at Little Nell's.
Ivana Trump came to Aspen without a man for the first time that anyone
can remember. She and her mother went shopping at Dennis Basso, where
Ivana spent $50,000 on two fur coats. But no amount of retail therapy
could console her when word came that her ex-boyfriend Count Roffredo
Lovatelli Gaetani was killed in a car accident in Italy.
"She was so upset, she didn't leave her hotel room," says a source.
Except when it came time to move on to St. Bart's. Also on that island
were Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova, who assured all onlookers at
the Yacht Club that they're still a couple.
"They were at a corner table - hugging and kissing like they'd just
started dating," says a spy.

Klum Edited From Broadcast in Iran
AP/ Thomas Kienzle
Supermodel Heidi Klum was completely cut out of the Iranian broadcast of the
soccer World Cup Finals draw in Germany last week, because her outfit was
deemed too revealing.
The draw in Liepzig -- at which qualifying teams were grouped together ahead
of next year's finals -- was watched by 350 million viewers around the
world.
But Iranians watched a Klum-less affair after authorities objected to her
low-cut dress.
Klum's father, Gunther, is furious, telling German newspaper Bild am
Sonntag, "I don't understand it. What about the dancer [a magician's
assitant who appeared on the show in a bikini top]? She revealed far more
flesh than Heidi."

Trump: 'My Pregnant Wife Looks Like a Monster'
AP / Henny Ray Abrams
Property tycoon Donald Trump has declared his his pregnant wife Melania's
expanding waistline makes her look "like a blimp."
"The Apprentice" reality TV star, 59, discussed the Slovenian model's
appearance on shock jock Howard Stern's morning radio show Wednesday,
reports Page Six.
Trump says, "You know, they just blow up, right?
"Like a blimp -- in the right places. In her case, the right places. I mean
she really has become a monster -- in all the right places.
"I mean monster in the most positive way. She has gotten very, very large --
in all the right places."
However, despite loving his wife's pregnancy shape, Trump says his crush on
supermodel Heidi Klum is over since she gave birth to her two kids, Leni and
Henry.
Trump reveals, "I looked at her the other day, and it's off. There's no
question."
